The Real H Nutrition and Animal Health began operations in February 1985 in the city of Ribas do Rio Pardo (MS) in Brazil, as veterinary products store.
In 1986 the professor and medical veterinary homeopath, Claudio Martins Real began studies and field research on cattle’ mortality.
In the 1980s, the state of Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil faced a great slaughter of cows that decimated thousands of cattle’s head, causing serious damage to farmers and the state’s economy. Discover the causes and solve the problem was the goal. The challenge was huge.
The Royal Family opens a small factory in Ribas do Rio Pardo in 1989, for the production of mineral supplements: a mineral salt Real factory.
In this period the company began research aimed not only to elucidate and end the occurrence of animals’ death, but also improve livestock, to increase the productivity with consistent profitability for farmers.
The basic and novel idea was through the inclusion of homeopathic medicines in mineral supplements, properly selected, to get bigger and better absorption and utilization of nutrients and minerals in general. Thus, it would avoid the occurrence of deaths, since the problematic in the mortality of the animals occurred was poor mineralization of cattle. In order to confirm this hypothesis, the Real team carried out in field, in their own “habitat” of the animals in Agua Clara city (MS), an experiment with all scientific accuracy. The experiment was conducted at Orient Farm; it lasted 552 days (November 20ᵗʰ, 1989 to May 15ᵗʰ, 1991) and involved 560 cows divided into three lots. One, the experimental lot, received the mineral supplement with the selected homeopathic medicines, while the other two batches considered as control, received normal mineral supplements, without the addition of homeopathic medicines. The capacity of the winter pastures, the quality/quantity of pastures and watering places were fully equal.
At the end of the experiment, Real had his hypothesis completely confirmed. Not only were the experimental lot cows heavier than those of the two batches control, but the calves produced (generated, gestated and suckled) during the experiment were significantly heavier than those produced in batch control.
They were broken paradigms not only in the field of animal nutrition, as well as in the field of homeopathy itself and until then did not accept the possibility of the collective population’ treatment: homeopathy for the herd.
The inclusion of homeopathic medicines in mineral supplements was an unprecedented event in Brazil, America and the world.
